What is Pallegama Tea
The Journey of Pallegama Tea begins in an exquisite location of lush tea plantation, situated in the Central Highlands of Sri Lanka, midst of a breathtaking landscape; home to pure refreshing waterfalls and springs.
The temperature, humid and moist, receiving sufficient rainfall all year round, with untainted nutritious soil and air, cool and full of energy; gives life to the best tea trees of Ceylon These pure miraculous leaves, gifted by nature, packed with nutritional value, are then transported into the withering beds of Pallegama Tea Factory where the moisture is naturally reduced maintaining the character of the tea, in its rawest form.
The leaves are rolled and twisted to perfection under the careful observation and supervision of the trained, well-experienced Pallegama Tea Team Staff, until the natural essence of the tea leaves are brought out These teas are transferred into the driers which have been inherited by the trade from the British Colonial Period which go through a process called ‘firing’ where the teas are dried using unique techniques which preserve and pack in the rich aroma, colour, taste and strength, sealing in the signature properties of The Pallegama Teas We have well experienced, qualified and trained staffs who are expert in the field of packaging of Teas to meet International standard
